Here’s something straight out of a sci-fi movie: Google is teaching an AI to “speak” dolphin! They’ve teamed up with the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Wild Dolphin Project to create DolphinGemma, a special AI model. Instead of finishing sentences like most AI tools, this one works on completing dolphin sounds—like clicks and whistles—using years of recorded dolphin chatter. The goal is to find patterns in how dolphins communicate and maybe even mimic words for things like toys or seagrass. It’s not quite like Finding Nemo, but this project is taking us closer to a future where we might actually have real conversations with these super-smart sea creatures. What do you think about chatting with dolphins one day?
