Personal Data
At PC Runner, everything we do is focused on bringing you, our readers, the best content possible. We don’t add cookies when you visit our site, and we don’t check or look into any cookies you might have when you arrive or leave (more on IP addresses below). Outside of our competitions and newsletter, we don’t store your personal contact details.
For our competitions, we keep things short and sweet—they usually run for less than a month. We use a special email inbox just for entries. We’ll have your email from the moment you enter until the prize is delivered to the winner. Once the prize is sent out, we delete all the entries for that competition. So, your email will typically be in our inbox for less than 4 weeks. We only use it to reach out about the competition—like letting you know if you’ve won—and we never share it with outside groups.
IP Addresses
We use Google Analytics to look at anonymous stats, like demographics and marketing trends, about the people who visit PC Runner. This helps us understand our audience better without collecting personal info.
Opt-In Newsletter
Sometimes, we send a simple newsletter to readers who’ve signed up for it. Every email will remind you that you chose to join and that you can unsubscribe anytime. We store this info on Mailchimp and never share it with third parties. If you don’t keep opting in regularly, you’ll stop getting the newsletter, and we’ll delete your data.
Client Data
Occasionally, we reach out to new vendors, resellers, or distributors in the tech world. We use contact info that these companies and their employees have publicly shared for business purposes. For companies we work with (or have worked with), we keep the info needed to do business. Clients can always ask about the data we’re holding. This info is stored on individual, password-protected PCs, and only accessed by the team members who need it for that business relationship.
Research
From time to time, PC Runner readers can choose to join research projects we run. The type of data we collect depends on the project, but we’ll always make it clear at the start what info we’re storing.
Updates to This Policy
We might update this policy if things like government laws change. If that happens, we’ll let you know by posting about it on our homepage.
