Alright, let’s talk about “House of the Dragon” season 3! Good news: they’re rolling cameras! HBO even dropped a cool behind-the-scenes video to show us they’re getting started. And guess what? We’ve got a bunch of casting updates and story hints to get excited about. Westeros is about to get wild again.
So, when’s season 3 coming? Well, no exact date yet. But, if we look at how long we waited between seasons 1 and 2 (about two years), we’re probably looking at summer 2026. Yeah, a bit of a wait, but hopefully, it’ll be worth it.

And here’s the kicker: this isn’t the end! We’re getting a season 4, too. The showrunners said they’re aiming for four seasons to wrap up the whole story. With all the big battles coming, it makes sense to spread it out.
Now, who’s coming back? Most of the main crew from season 2 will be back, though, you know, some characters didn’t make it. But we’ve got some new faces, too! James Norton is joining as Ormund Hightower, and we’re getting some more Northmen, including a familiar “Game of Thrones” character.
Here’s a quick rundown: Matt Smith as Daemon, Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra, Olivia Cooke as Alicent, and all the others you know and love.
As for the story, season 2 left us with Rhaenyra having a big advantage with her dragons. They’re heading for King’s Landing, but things might not go as planned. Aegon and Larys are up to something, Helaena might be riding her dragon, and Tyland Lannister’s got a fleet on the way. Plus, Aemond and Vhagar are eyeing Harrenhal.

Even George R.R. Martin, who wrote the books, hinted at some upcoming changes that could cause some drama. And Emma D’Arcy? They really want Rhaenyra to get a weapon, like, yesterday.
Oh, and get ready for a big battle right at the start of season 3! HBO says the first episode is going to be intense.
Sadly, no trailer yet. They just started filming, so it’ll be a while. But keep your eyes peeled, and we’ll let you know when we get one!
