Great news for fans! The hit series based on the beloved video game franchise Fallout has been renewed for a third season, and this announcement comes just as Season 2 is gearing up for its premiere later this year. Prime Video shared the exciting update on May 12 during their annual upfront event in New York City.

This renewal is happening well before Season 2 hits the screen, which is set to launch in December 2025. Since its debut, the show has drawn over 100 million viewers worldwide, landing it among Prime Video’s top three most-watched shows ever.
Fallout takes place 200 years after a world-ending event and follows the sheltered folks from luxury fallout shelters who have to venture back into the harsh, irradiated world their ancestors escaped. They’re in for a surprise with a wild, quirky, and violent landscape waiting for them. Season 2 will pick up after the Season 1 finale, taking us through the Mojave wasteland to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.
The new season will be available exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, said, “We’re so excited that our global Prime Video fans can dive deeper into the amazing and quirky world of Fallout. Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have done an incredible job bringing this beloved game to life on the platform.”
The show features Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins, who joined the stage at New York’s Beacon Theater during the upfront event to share the Season 2 premiere timeline. The cast also includes Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, and Frances Turner.

Fallout is brought to you by Kilter Films, with executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy leading the way. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner are also executive producers, creators, and showrunners. Todd Howard from Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman from Bethesda Softworks join as executive producers too. The series is a joint effort by Amazon MGM Studios, Kilter Films, Bethesda Game Studios, and Bethesda Softworks.
Season 1 is already streaming exclusively on Prime Video, and Season 2 will arrive in December. What do you think about more Fallout adventures? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
