As we get closer to Computex 2025, there’s been a lot of buzz about the next-gen Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors. Industry insiders have spotted more leaks lately, and AMD’s leadership is expected to introduce the “Shimada Peak” 9000WX CPUs during a presentation on May 21. Even though AMD has been pretty quiet about it, their partners and others have dropped hints that Zen 5-based workstation processors are coming soon—likely as the next step up from the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000WX (Zen 4) models. On May 6, the Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO) added to the excitement with what looks like an official leak. The independent group posted a new page on their website called “AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 WX-Series Processors,” which was spotted by VideoCardz. This “Shimada Peak” certification seems to signal that a launch might be just around the corner, possibly right after the expected reveal in Taipei, Taiwan. Some tech watchers think a non-PRO 9000X series might come later, but so far, leaks about the next-gen Threadripper haven’t mentioned a High-End Desktop (HEDT) line alongside it. Sadly, SATA-IO’s latest update didn’t include any extra details to dig into.

What do you think about these new workstation CPUs? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
