Electronic Arts just shared that the next Battlefield game will be out by March 31, 2026, at the latest, and they’re planning a big public reveal this summer! The news came during EA’s latest financial report, showing how confident they are in the future of this series. EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, called the new game “a major step in creating our next big entertainment hit.” His words suggest EA is working hard to win back fans after Battlefield 2042 didn’t quite hit the mark. They started closed testing in March with tight secrecy agreements, but some gameplay footage has already leaked online. Because of that, DICE decided to open up the testing in May, inviting more players from Europe, North America, and Asia. If you’d like to join the tests, you can still sign up on the official Battlefield website.
During this longer testing phase, DICE is focusing on getting the core gameplay just right. They’re working on things like balancing different weapons, tweaking damage levels, smoothing out movement, and making sure the combat flows well. They’re also testing destructible objects—like barricades, vehicles, and buildings—across various maps to make sure the destruction feels exciting but fair, so players can use the changing terrain to their advantage. Later this year, they’ll share more about individual classes and the full details of the all-out War Mode. Unlike their last release, EA is being more open this time, sharing regular updates and listening to player feedback. Four studios, together called Battlefield Studios, are teaming up on this project: DICE is handling multiplayer, Motive is working on maps and single-player missions, Criterion is focusing on the solo campaign, and Ripple Effect is creating a brand-new part of the series.
What do you think about the next Battlefield? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
