Slimbook Launches Kymera Black: A Powerful Linux PC for Gamers and Creators

Slimbook, a European (Spanish) company known for Linux hardware, just introduced the Kymera Black—a super customizable desktop PC made for gamers, content creators, and tech lovers. This new model is all about flexibility, top performance, and lasting durability. You can choose between AMD or Intel processors, going all the way up to the latest AMD Ryzen 9 or Intel Ultra 9 CPUs. It supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000 MHz, plus tons of storage options—like up to 4 TB NVMe 5.0 SSDs (depending on the motherboard) and 80 TB of HDD space. For staying connected, it can come with Wi-Fi 7 (again, depending on the motherboard) and 2.5G Ethernet, plus a power supply that goes up to 1200 W Platinum.

The Kymera Black has a sleek matte black metal case with parts you can swap out, panels you can take off, and dust filters you can wash. It features tempered glass and metal side panels, and you can even add an 8-inch front display to keep an eye on things like system temperature, fan speed, and how your components are doing in real time. On the software side, it comes with a bunch of pre-installed Linux options, like Slimbook OS (based on Ubuntu with GNOME or KDE Plasma), plus Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, KDE neon, Debian, elementary OS, Pop!_OS, Linux Mint, Fedora, openSUSE, Manjaro, EndeavourOS, and Lliurex.

At Slimbook, they believe every product should have its own personality. The Kymera Black stands out with vertical engravings inspired by circuit designs, a little emperor penguin, and their motto: “Be one of us.” It’s a small touch that ties their community together. Pricing starts at €749 (~$851) for the AMD version, which includes a Ryzen 5 7600X, 16 GB of DDR5-6000 RAM, a 500 GB NVMe 4.0 SSD, decent cooling, and a 500 W 80+ Bronze power supply. The Intel version with a Core i5-14600K starts at €779 (~$885). Slimbook offers a three-year warranty in Spain (two years in the EU).
