Back in April, MSI introduced the MAG 272UP QD-OLED X24 in China, and now it’s popped up on their global website, hinting at a worldwide launch for this budget-friendly 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor. The specs are pretty close to the MPG 272URX QD-OLED, with both offering a 240 Hz refresh rate, a super-fast 0.03 ms response time, a peak HDR brightness of 1000 nits, and a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. They also feature MSI’s graphene film with a custom heatsink to keep the QD-OLED panel cool, plus MSI’s OLED Care 2.0 and a solid three-year warranty.

That said, the MAG 272UP QD-OLED X24 sticks with DP 1.4a instead of the newer DP 2.1a, though both models have two HDMI 2.1 ports and a USB Type-C input with DP Alt mode. The MAG version, however, only offers 15 W USB PD charging, while the MPG 272URX pumps out 98 W. MSI also skipped the USB hub and KVM support on the MAG model, but it still includes a headphone jack. It comes with basic VESA Adaptive-Sync, so no FreeSync or G-Sync here. On the bright side, MSI added special console modes at 60 and 120 Hz across three resolutions—something new—and VRR works with consoles too. The design looks the same as the pricier version, so you might mix them up at a glance. We don’t have pricing details outside China yet, where it’s around $750.
What do you think about this budget-friendly OLED monitor? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
