Intel seems ready to expand its Arc “Battlemage” lineup with a new, stronger desktop graphics card, likely called the Arc B770, which could arrive as early as next quarter. So far, Intel has released two Xe2 Battlemage models—the B570 with 10 GB and the B580 with 12 GB—and both have been well-liked for their great performance at affordable prices. Fans have been guessing about higher models like the B750, B770, or even a B780, but after the B570 launch, Intel shifted its focus to new AI PC processors, leaving GPU fans wondering what’s next. Recently, shipping records revealed a “BMG-G31” GPU die heading to Intel’s Vietnam plant, where the limited-edition B570 and B580 were made, and insider Haze2K1 shared papers hinting at a “B7XX” special-edition series. There’s also talk of a 24 GB Developer Edition based on the earlier BMG-G21 die, suggesting Intel might be targeting workstation and creative pros too.
A popular tipster, OneRaichu, added to the buzz by saying the Arc B770 could have 24 to 32 Xe2 compute units, a 256-bit memory interface, and 16 GB of GDDR6. That would make it a strong competitor to xx60-series cards from other brands, offering a nice boost for gaming and heavy computing tasks. Looking ahead, Intel’s next graphics tech, Xe3 “Celestial,” is already in pre-silicon testing. Intel engineer Tom Petersen, along with some industry leaks, confirmed that Celestial’s media engines, Xe cores, XMX units, and ray-tracing hardware are designed and being tested in a hardware model to tweak power use and speed. With Computex 2025 starting in late May, Intel might finally share more about its high-end Battlemage updates and Celestial plans, which could shake things up in the mainstream and next-gen GPU markets.
What do you think about Intel’s new GPU plans? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
