IO Interactive, the masterminds behind the hit HITMAN series, teamed up with Amazon MGM Studios to showcase the first gameplay deep dive for 007 First Light during a special Sony PlayStation State of Play today. Fans got their first look at this standalone, reimagined origin story of James Bond, featuring the aspiring spy in action. The game is slated to launch on March 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with pre-orders kicking off now. As a bonus, anyone who pre-orders will get a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, including 24-hour early access and exclusive in-game skins and outfits.

Patrick Gibson (known from Dexter: Original Sin and The OA) will voice and motion-capture James Bond, joined by classic characters like M (Priyanga Burford), Q (Alastair Mackenzie), and Miss Moneypenny (Kiera Lester). New faces include Bond’s mentor John Greenway (Lennie James) and Miss Roth (Noemie Nakai), adding fresh depth to the cast.

The gameplay reveal highlighted exciting locations, from an undercover mission at a chess tournament in Slovakia to infiltrating a lavish gala in Kensington, London—teasing the glamorous yet dangerous espionage world Bond will navigate. At the heart of the experience is the Creative Approach, blending IO Interactive’s spy expertise with versatile gameplay:
- Spycraft lets you use stealth and observation—eavesdropping, pickpocketing, or spotting clues—to unlock new mission paths.
- Instinct offers a dynamic tool to turn the tide, letting Bond lure enemies, bluff his way out, or sharpen combat focus with style.
- Gadgets from Q Branch, like lock-hackers and distractions, evolve as you progress, enhancing stealth and tactics.
- Combat mixes fast-paced ranged shooting, cinematic melee (takedowns, throws, parries), and a License to Kill escalation, grounding every fight in Bond’s persona.

Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, said, “With 007 First Light, we’re crafting an original Bond experience that fuses espionage tension with the franchise’s bold spectacle, tailored uniquely to him.” The deep dive also showcased cinematic highlights like high-speed chases, shootouts, and a dramatic airplane battle, capturing Bond’s evolution into an elite agent.
