Biwin just introduced the Mini SSD, a tiny marvel that packs NVMe-level performance into a SIM-tray style card, barely bigger than a MicroSD! It offers impressive read speeds up to 3,700 MB/s and write speeds up to 3,400 MB/s over a PCIe 4.0 x2 connection, available in 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB sizes. Measuring just 15 × 17 × 1.4 mm, this module pops out with a pin like a smartphone SIM, making it super easy to swap without any tools.

Biwin highlights its IP68 dust and water resistance, plus three-meter drop protection, perfect for tough mobile use. This little device strikes a great balance between the convenience of MicroSD and the speed of M.2 drives.

Early support from handhelds like GPD’s Win 5 and OneXPlayer Super X suggests we’ll soon find out if controllers, firmware, and heat limits can match its bold claims. If it delivers, more handheld makers might jump on board too!

What do you think about this compact new SSD? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
