Gigabyte has a fun surprise up its sleeve! They just added a new B850 motherboard, the B850M Force, to their website. This microATX AM5 board brings back the popular SOC Force series—think GA-Z170X-SOC Force or GA-Z97X-SOC Force—which thrilled Intel fans years ago with its bold orange look. After the sleek, all-white designs of their recent B850 Ice models like the B850 Aorus Stealth Ice or B850M Eagle Ice from January, this new Force series is a nod to retro lovers and a treat for a wide range of users.

The B850M Force is built around AMD’s B850 chipset and works with all AMD Ryzen processors for the AM5 socket, including the latest 9000 series CPUs. It features an 8+2+2 phase digital VRM with heatsinks and supports up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory across two DIMM slots, with speeds reaching up to overclocked 9600 MT/s (thanks to AMD EXPO and XMP profiles). For storage, you get three M.2 slots with different PCIe options and four SATA 6 Gb/s connectors. Expansion is covered with a PCIe x16 slot that supports PCIe 5.0 and an extra PCIe x4 slot from the chipset.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3 (on the Wi-Fi model), a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, and plenty of USB options like USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB-C. Plus, there’s a cool retro touch with a PS/2 port! For displays, it offers HDMI 2.1 for 4K at 60 Hz and DisplayPort 1.4 for 4K at 144 Hz, depending on your processor’s graphics.
The B850M Force also comes with Gigabyte’s X3D Turbo mode, which boosts performance for Ryzen 9000 X3D and non-X3D CPUs with just one click. For now, Gigabyte hasn’t shared the exact price or availability, but we’re excited to see more!
What do you think about this orange revival for AMD builds? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
