We previously shared CD Projekt Red’s confirmation that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would get one last big update before The Witcher 4 arrives, adding mod support for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, plus cross-platform mods. Originally set for late 2025, this final patch has been pushed back, according to a recent announcement.

No specific reason was given for the delay, with the studio simply stating that “the rollout is now shifting to 2026” and apologizing to fans. When it does launch, this will be the only way for console players to access mods for The Witcher 3, though PC users can still install mods from other platforms. There’s no mention of Nintendo Switch support, so Switch owners will likely need unofficial methods to convert and add mods.
What do you think about this delay for modding The Witcher 3? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
