Pimax just dropped a big update on its Micro-OLED lineup with the Dream Air SE, Dream Air, and Crystal Super Micro-OLED. First teased earlier this year, these headsets are now set for launch with finalized specs, extra features, and confirmed availability. They highlight Pimax’s talent for blending Micro-OLED displays and pancake optics into VR gear that challenges the status quo.
A Leap Forward in Micro-OLED VR

Micro-OLED brings ultra-sharp pixels, deep blacks, and endless contrast, but it’s had hurdles like heat control and optics. Pimax cracked these with its ConcaveView pancake optics, becoming the first VR brand to bring Micro-OLED headsets to the masses—not just prototypes.
The Lineup
- Dream Air SE – This lightweight (under 140 g) all-in-one 5K headset has 2560 × 2560 resolution per eye, Tobii eye-tracking, dynamic foveated rendering, 6DOF SLAM tracking, and spatial audio. At $899, it opens Micro-OLED VR to gamers and creators.
- Dream Air – The smallest full-feature 8K VR headset at under 170 g, with 3840 × 3552 resolution per eye (over 27 million pixels total). It offers 110° horizontal and 120°+ diagonal FOV with balanced stereo, mixing portability with stunning quality.
- Crystal Super Micro-OLED – Pimax’s top model, with 116° horizontal and 128°+ diagonal FOV—the widest on Micro-OLED VR. As part of the modular Crystal system, it swaps optical engines (Ultrawide, 57 PPD clarity, or Micro-OLED), great for enthusiasts and pro sim users.
Availability

Pre-orders are open now, with shipments starting later this year. Early buyers get extras like prescription lens frames and a free copy of Le Mans Ultimate. All models are covered by the Pimax Prime program for service and updates. Plus, a limited prototype Micro-OLED optical engine loan is available for early Crystal Super supporters.
Shaping VR’s Future
With the Dream Air SE, Dream Air, and Crystal Super Micro-OLED, Pimax is the only brand with a full Micro-OLED + pancake lens VR lineup. This shows Micro-OLED VR is no longer a dream—it’s here, polished, and ready for everyone.
What do you think about these new headsets? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
