Electronic Arts Inc. and Battlefield Studios are thrilled to announce the launch of Battlefield REDSEC, a free-to-play battle royale spin-off built on the iconic Battlefield DNA. REDSEC features 100-player matches (in 25 teams of four or 50 teams of two), squad mode, and a mission-based elimination mode called Gauntlet. Set in Fort Lyndon, a California government testing facility turned war zone, it’s the largest Battlefield map yet, blending tight interiors with open streets and massive destruction.
REDSEC is now live on PC via Steam, Epic Games, and the EA App, plus PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s free-to-play, so jump in without owning Battlefield 6, though owners get extra perks like cross-play and Portal access.
The year is 2027, and the world is crumbling. NATO is fracturing amid distrust, financial woes, proxy wars, and political strife. Enter Pax Armata, a ruthless private military corporation with deep pockets and cutting-edge tech, filling the power vacuum.
Multiplayer is more varied than ever, with a wide range of modes and content. Battle across detailed, destructible maps like Tajikistan’s Liberation Peak, Manhattan Bridge standoffs, and Cairo’s New Sobek City construction sites—plus six more showcasing global-scale chaos.
Fan favorites like Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush return, letting you unleash destruction with weapons, vehicles, and the environment. They’re joined by Escalation, a fresh all-out warfare twist. For shooter fans, modes like Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, and King of the Hill get Battlefield’s signature destruction and tactics.
Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield, said, “This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for—the new era of ultimate all-out warfare is here. On behalf of Battlefield Studios, we’re so excited for you to join the fight. With Battlefield 6, we aimed to push the series to new heights with intense combat, world-class gunplay, epic warfare, and the player freedom that makes Battlefield iconic.”
The Single Player campaign spans nine adrenaline-fueled missions as Dagger 13, an elite US Marine raider squad taking on Pax Armata. From Brooklyn to Cairo, these jaw-dropping set pieces deliver explosive action on an unmatched scale.
Battlefield 6 also brings back an upgraded Portal, where you can reshape battles or create wild experiences that stretch the series’ limits. These tools let you customize your Battlefield to match your style or go beyond expectations.

Vince Zampella, Executive Vice President, added, “Today’s launch is just day one for Battlefield 6. It offers more ways to play than ever, but this is only the beginning. Season 1 kicks off October 28 with Rogue Ops, including the new Blackwell Fields map and a 4v4 mode. We’re committed to non-stop fun, with California Resistance on November 18 (featuring the Eastwood map) and Winter Offensive on December 29 (with an Empire State seasonal update). All gameplay features will be free or earnable, ensuring fair play for everyone.”
Battlefield 6 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, EA App, Epic Games Store). The Standard Edition is $69.99, and the Phantom Edition is $69.99, including the full game, “Phantom Squad” Soldier Skin pack, two high-performance Weapon Packages, a Vehicle Skin, a Combat Knife Skin, and a Battlefield Pro token for Season 1 perks like the Battle Pass, 25 Tier Skips, and exclusive cosmetics.
EA Play members get 10% off the digital Standard Edition, plus the EA Play Deployment Pack for early soldier customization and ongoing rewards. EA Play and EA Play Pro offer unlimited access to Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and more.
