Get ready for an incredible ride! Activision just announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, a new chapter from Treyarch and Raven Software that promises the wildest Black Ops experience yet. This is a big deal—it’s the first time the series has gone back-to-back, picking up more than 40 years after Black Ops 6. Set in 2035, the world is a mess, torn apart by fierce conflicts and psychological tricks following the events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. Players will join David Mason and his team, using cutting-edge tech to battle an enemy that thrives on spreading fear.
Matt Cox, General Manager of Call of Duty, shared more about the vision behind Black Ops 7. “The Black Ops universe is something special,” he said. “The storytelling, the deep characters, and the exciting gameplay across all modes are just amazing. From the start, our goal was to give players a seamless series experience that highlights what makes Black Ops stand out.”
You’ll have plenty to look forward to, whether you team up with friends or go solo. The game offers a thrilling Co-op Campaign, a Multiplayer mode with fresh maps and near-future weapons, and a new twisted chapter of Round-Based Zombies in the Dark Aether. Later this year, Black Ops 7 will deliver the full Call of Duty package, and Matt can’t wait to show more. “We’re excited to share what the teams have been working on when we reveal it later this summer,” he added.
Official Teaser Release
The journey to Black Ops 7 kicks off today with the Official Teaser Cinematic (check it out above). Tyler Bahl, Head of Activision Publishing Marketing, explained, “We’re building on the huge excitement we’ve seen in the Black Ops community. This is our first time doing back-to-back releases, so we want to give players more time to enjoy Black Ops 6 and Warzone before turning the page to Black Ops 7.”
“Our teaser sets the stage for the wild story coming with Black Ops 7,” Bahl continued. “Doing consecutive Black Ops games lets our teams tap into our creativity and shift from the ‘90s to this new 2035 setting in our marketing. Today is just the start with this teaser. The full reveal is coming later this summer, so keep an eye out for hints, clues, and the surprises Black Ops is known for. It’s an exciting time as we gear up for this new Call of Duty adventure!”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch on PC via Xbox PC, Battle.net, and Steam, and you can play it on day one with PC Game Pass.
