According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest “Power On” newsletter, Apple is gearing up to quietly launch its first M5-powered devices this week via an online announcement, skipping the big keynote. The lineup is expected to include an updated iPad Pro, the base 14-inch MacBook Pro, and a refreshed Vision Pro headset. Early tests and reports suggest solid gains in CPU and GPU speed, plus better on-device machine learning, thanks to the M5’s architecture from recent iPhone chips and production on TSMC’s refined N3 process. The iPad Pro keeps its slim design but might add a second front-facing camera for better video calls in both portrait and landscape modes.

Apple is pacing things carefully behind the scenes. The standard M5 chip is ready for these entry-level devices, while the more powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max are still working through supply issues and won’t arrive until early 2026 with the higher-end 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros. The Vision Pro refresh focuses on a faster processor and a comfier strap for longer wear, rather than major design changes. Overall, these M5 updates will bring subtle exterior tweaks with meaningful improvements in speed, efficiency, and AI smarts. Official details, availability, and pricing should appear alongside the product pages soon. We’ll keep you posted as more comes in.
What do you think about this M5 lineup? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
